Welcome to the Mt Eden Tennis Club news.
The 2011-2012 tennis season is now in full swing. The season began with a successful open day on 2-3 September, with lots of juniors participating on the 2nd and a good group of seniors enjoying a fun tournament and a sausage sizzle on the 3rd. A number of members took the opportunity to pay fees on the day, including some new members to the club. If you haven’t yet paid your fees for this year, and would like to rejoin, please get in touch with Diana Gatland (Ph 630 0386).
Welcome to our new members - we are happy to have you with us! You will find there are lots of opportunities to play tennis at Mt Eden, whatever your level, and plenty of nice people to meet. Members who have been with the club for a while will make sure you feel welcome. Please check the website for details of our organised play, and if you want to tee up casual play, you won’t have any trouble finding other members to join you. If you are keen to play interclub, there are lots of different teams playing on different days during the week, and no extra fees to participate. Senior interclub is already underway, and junior interclub will start at the beginning of the next school term. We currently also have a fun and competitive singles ladderboard competition, which is another great opportunity for seniors to meet and play against other seniors.
In the coming weeks, you will notice a change to the clubhouse. Some carpentry work is currently underway to tidy up the side of the clubhouse facing the road, so it is ready for a fresh coat of paint. We are also going to put up a new noticeboard in the main clubrooms downstairs, on which you will find offers from Tennis Auckland and details about junior and senior tournaments outside of the club that you can participate in as a club member.
Happy playing!
